These practices are used to reverse obstacles and pacify negative conditions. They are done together at Palyul Namdroling as part of their daily practice. Prajnaparamita (the Heart Sutra) is the most profound practice because you are dissolving all obstacles into emptiness - this is the essence of practice. Both the White Umbrella and the Sengdongma (Lion-faced Dakini) are also powerful deities for reversing obstacles and calamities.
For the practices below, the Heart Sutra practice does not require an empowerment; to do the White Umbrella practice you should receive an empowerment but you can do the practice until you receive one; the Sengdongma practice definitely does require an empowerment but any Protector empowerment you have received would have included it.
